Sophie Hyman

Sophie is a research intern who recently graduated from Northwestern University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience. There, she found her interest in neurobiology and previously conducted retinal research in the lab of Dr. Tiffany Schmidt into intrinsically-photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs). She is driven by an interest in circuit and systems neuroscience, curious about how stimuli, like light, are  relayed to drive downstream processes. She is also a Badger Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) scholar here at UW-Madison. In her free time, Sophie likes to read, get outdoors, play and coach ultimate frisbee, and write.
